USAA
USAA was a fantastic client to work for. This was the most multi-faceted project I’ve ever been involved in, considering that the team working on it on Critical Mass’ end consisted of myself and one other developer for the majority of it. While most of my work was based out of the Calgary office, on occasion I was able to travel down to USAA headquarters in San Antonio, TX to work with, instruct, and lead their internal team of developers as they worked towards launching their current design (which was originally conceived by Critical Mass creative teams).
One other incredible aspect of this project was the internal web-based tools I was able to develop to facilitate communication between Calgary and San Antonio. One tool in particular allowed a user to upload a screenshot or design flat, and then simply by clicking on the image, they could assign “points” that could have any amount of data associated with it. This data would be stored in an XML file, and when complete, could be exported as a static HTML file that could be run off of a web server, desktop, or zipped up and emailed. This PHP/Javascript based application has since been adopted by other account teams at Critical Mass.
